Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) is more than just a structure. It's a foundation that aligns business objectives, identifies organizational risks, accelerates new opportunities, and often serves as the bedrock for many cybersecurity programs.

GRC is not a one-time process; it's continuous, and each team's path is unique to its business. This year at Drataverse ‘24 we are weaving this story into our agenda, and our team is ready to help you chart your course to the next level of GRC maturity and professional growth.

With this in mind, we’re excited to share the full agenda and schedule for the conference, which will be held on June 12 at Pier 27 in San Francisco. And, in case you missed it, the iconic skateboarding legend Tony Hawk will be the Drataverse headliner and share a bit about his own journey.

The Lineup

To kick off the day, we’ll start promptly at 8 a.m. with registration and coffee. From there, you’ll have time to network, chat with the sponsors who helped make the conference happen, and connect with members of the Drata team.

At 9 a.m., our Co-Founder and CEO, Adam Markowitz, will take the stage to set the tone for the day as part of our morning keynote hour. He’ll then hand off the mic to our Head of Product, Brian Elmi, who will share his vision for the year ahead. To top things off, our CISO, Matt Hillary, will then join our CMO, Sydney Sloan, to discuss Drata’s GRC maturity model.

We’ll then break into various sessions throughout the day designed to help you chart your course across the world of GRC. Access our full schedule or take a look at just a few of the sessions below:

Morning Breakouts

Image - Pen Test

Throughout the breakouts, you’ll find a mix of presentations, panels, and workshops geared toward meeting you at your current GRC maturity level and helping you navigate to the next level. As part of this, we’ll hear from security leaders like Richy May’s CISO, who will walk us through the anatomy of a pen test.

You’ll also get the chance to hear about something new that we’ve been building or learn how to make the business case for a more robust GRC program as a startup, not just check-the-box compliance.

Image - GRC Engineering

Shortly after, if you have an advanced GRC organization that builds software, Varun Gurnaney, a GRC engineer at one of the largest tech companies in the world and an investor, will share some insights about integrating GRC into DevOps for future-ready compliance. We’re big fans of his mission of making engineers hate compliance less.

You can also hear directly from your peers in the A-LIGN-hosted panel of GRC professionals who represent different levels of maturity. They will share their perspective on the ever-changing regulatory landscape.

Early Afternoon Breakouts

Whether you’re bringing AI in to help you in your role as a GRC or cybersecurity pro, or you want to create policies and build controls so that other departments can safely adopt it, our panelists have you covered.

You’ll hear from:

  • Filevine’s SVP, Information Security, Dean Sapp

  • GlobalVision’s GRC Manager, Shruti Mukherjee

  • Echelon Risk + Cyber’s Director of vCISO Advisory Services, Paul Interval

Late Afternoon Breakouts

What does it take to become a trusted GRC and privacy advisor to the business? What does a career pathway look like to climb the ranks?

Class Technologies' Senior Vice President and Chief Compliance Officer, Tess Frazier, will share how to effectively oversee compliance and privacy as a compliance leader.

Special Keynote

Image - Tony Hawk

Last, but certainly not least, we’re shutting everything down and giving the stage to the iconic Tony Hawk. Tony will discuss pioneering uncharted territory, which we suspect that as GRC professionals battling with new laws, policies, and regulations, you can probably relate.

“We’re incredibly thrilled to have Tony Hawk, a San Diego native and trailblazer, as our keynote speaker for Drataverse. I’ve always admired Tony for his relentless drive, competitive spirit, and commitment to his profession and community,” said Adam Markowitz, co-founder and CEO of Drata. “Tony has transformed an industry while continuing to reinvent himself, and we’re so fortunate to be able to share his stories and parallels with the GRC community.”

Haven’t registered yet? You can do so at drataverse.com, and we’ll see you on Wednesday, June 12! As a reminder, if you’re a customer, you get two complimentary passes. Please reach out to your account manager for more information. If you are traveling, you can also book your stay at the Hyatt Regency.
